Dubbing adaptation and review

Dialogue that fits the scene.

Lexibraid helps localisation teams adapt translated dialogue to the scene. AI aligns scripts with video, flags timing and terminology issues, and suggests rewrites for human review before recording.

  • Scripts aligned with the video, line by line
  • Timing and terminology issues flagged before recording
  • Adapters choose every final word
Flagged lines Sample data
LXB-101Line 112 — Mira: “We have to go back before the lanterns go out.”
Likely overrun
LXB-102Character name — “Pip” vs “Pipo”
Terminology inconsistency
LXB-103Line 47 — Captain Rook: “Oh, brilliant. Just brilliant.”
Possible meaning shift

Timing figures are estimates. Adapters decide every final line.

Why Lexibraid exists

Why Lexibraid exists

A great dub feels like the characters were always speaking your language. That takes skilled adapters, directors and actors. We want to give them back the hours lost to lines that never fitted the scene in the first place.

Our purpose

Help localisation teams catch timing, terminology and meaning issues early, so studio time goes into performance.

Why it matters

Problems found during recording ripple across translators, actors and editors. Finding them while the script is still a document is faster, cheaper and kinder to everyone involved.

The stakes

A growing amount of dialogue to adapt.

What changes

From finding problems in the booth to fixing them on the page.

Today

  • Overlong lines discovered mid-recording
  • Character terms tracked in personal notes
  • Rewrites argued over without the scene in view
  • Timing checked by reading aloud with a stopwatch

With Lexibraid

  • Lines likely to overrun flagged before the session
  • Terminology checked across scenes and episodes
  • Rewrites reviewed beside the source line and scene
  • Duration estimated per line, with the estimate labelled

The problem

A correct translation can still be impossible to perform.

A line can be accurate and still too long for the speaking window, inconsistent with a character’s established terms, flatter than the original emotion, or at odds with what is on screen. These problems are usually found in rehearsal or in the booth, when every fix costs studio time across translators, actors and editors.

  • 01A five-second line written for a three-second shot
  • 02A character’s nickname translated two different ways
  • 03A joke that lands in the source but not in the dub
  • 04A line that refers to an object no longer on screen

The solution

Find the problem lines before the recording session.

Lexibraid aligns source dialogue with the video, estimates whether each adapted line fits its speaking window, checks terminology across scenes and episodes, and suggests alternatives that the adapter can accept, edit or ignore.

01

Alignment

Transcribes source dialogue and marks when each spoken segment starts and ends.

02

Duration estimates

Estimates how long an adapted line takes to say, using a model for the target language, and flags lines likely to overrun.

How it works

From translated script to recording-ready script.

  1. 01

    Upload

Add the video, source script, translated script and approved terminology list.

  2. 02

    Align

Lexibraid aligns each line with the video and estimates its speaking time.

  3. 03

    Review

Timing, terminology and possible meaning issues are flagged beside the source line and scene.

  4. 04

    Export

The adapter approves the final wording and exports a timed dubbing script.

Timing estimates are estimates until checked against an actual performance. Recorded takes can later be checked against the approved timing.

Who it’s for

For the teams that make dubbed content work.

01

Dubbing and localisation studios

Catch timing and terminology problems before actors are in the booth.

Fewer retakes
02

Film and television distributors

Review adapted scripts consistently across vendors and languages.

Consistent quality checks
03

Animation production companies

Keep character names, catchphrases and voice consistent across a series.

Consistent characters
04

Corporate and training localisation agencies

Adapt training and corporate video to fixed timings at volume.

Faster turnaround

What it will not claim

Estimates, not guarantees. Suggestions, not final lines.

Lexibraid is designed to support adapters, not to replace performance, direction or judgement. We are explicit about what the first version would and would not do.

  • Timing estimates need checking against real performances
  • Precise lip synchronisation is a later capability, not part of the first version
  • The first version supports one language pair and scripted video
  • Multimodal flags are prompts for human review, not conclusions

AI, used carefully

The model finds the tight lines. Adapters write the dialogue.

Dialogue is creative work. Lexibraid is built to save time on the mechanical checks and leave every creative decision with people.

What the AI does

  • Aligns source dialogue with the video
  • Estimates whether adapted lines fit their speaking windows
  • Detects inconsistent names, phrases and character references
  • Suggests alternative wording and explains what it changes

What it never does

  • Approves or locks a line without an adapter
  • Generates synthetic voices or replaces actors
  • Claims precise lip sync in the first version
  • Hides meaning lost in a shorter rewrite

People decide

Every line is confirmed, dismissed or escalated by dialogue adapters and dubbing directors, never by the model.

Evidence first

Each flag links to the video, source scripts, translated scripts and approved terminology behind it, so a reviewer can check the reasoning before acting.

Confidence shown

Scores come with a confidence level and the data gaps that lower it, so weak signals are not mistaken for facts.

Role-based access

Permissions are set per role: who can view, comment, assign, decide, escalate or export.

Complete audit trail

Assignments, notes and decisions are time-stamped with the person and reason, and can be exported.

Your data stays yours

Customer data is isolated per tenant, encrypted at rest and in transit, and never used to train models for other customers.

What we believe

What we believe about dubbing technology.

  1. 01

    Adapters are authors

Suggestions are options; the adapter writes the line.

  2. 02

    Say what was lost

Every shorter rewrite explains any meaning it drops.

  3. 03

    Estimates are labelled

Timing is an estimate until a performance confirms it.

  4. 04

    Characters stay consistent

Approved terms and voice carry across a whole series.

  5. 05

    No synthetic shortcuts

We support performers; we do not replace them.

  6. 06

    Earn each language

Languages are added only when models are validated.

A note from the founders

Why we are building Lexibraid.

Adaora has managed dubbing projects where a single overlong line held up a session while the team rewrote it in the booth. Multiplied across an episode, those moments became days.

Olamide directs and adapts dialogue and knows that the best fix usually comes from seeing the scene and the original line side by side. Sadiq has built speech models and knows how to be honest about the difference between an estimate and a measurement.

Lexibraid is our attempt to move that work earlier: show adapters which lines need attention and give them sensible options, while every word that reaches the actor is still chosen by a person.

FAQ

Questions people ask

hello@lexibraid.com
Which languages are supported?

The first version would support one language pair with scripted video. More pairs would be added only after their duration models are validated.

Does Lexibraid do lip sync?

Not in the first version. It estimates whether a line fits the speaking window. Precise lip synchronisation needs specialised modelling and validation and is planned for later.

Does it create synthetic voices?

No. Lexibraid works on the script. Actors perform the lines.

Is Lexibraid a live product?

Not yet. Lexibraid is a proposed startup concept. The team is fictional, pricing is illustrative and the prototype runs on fictional data in your browser.

Does the AI make decisions?

No. Lexibraid flags, ranks and explains. Dialogue adapters and dubbing directors review the evidence and record every decision with a reason.

How would our data be protected?

In production, data would be encrypted, isolated per customer, access-controlled by role and never used to train models for other customers. Data-sharing terms are agreed before any pilot.

Early access

Pilot Lexibraid with your own team.

We are looking for a small number of early partners to shape Lexibraid. A pilot starts with a sample of your historical data and a fixed review period, so you can judge the results before committing.

  1. Tell us about your team and the records you work with.
  2. A founder replies personally to arrange a short call.
  3. We agree a pilot scope, data-sharing terms and how success will be measured.
